I search for the moment where colour speaks of its own essential qualities. An instant when a unified composition says there is a hidden sense of order, and beauty leads my imagination into hints of an unseen mystery. This quest sustains my soul and these paintings are a by-product of my wanderings.
The colour relationships of the compositions on the silver aluminium panels alter according to the direction of the light rays reflecting back at the viewer, whilst the white glossy surfaces produce more saturated even colours. I pour on alcohol inks which slowly evaporate and combine into unexpected juxtapositions. I complete the design with contrasting areas of detail. A common motif within the paintings presented here is the nine-pointed star.
Nine is a meaningful number for my religion, the Baha’i Faith, as it is the highest single digit number and therefore symbolises completeness and perfection.
