My name is Helen Lloyd, and I admit my artistic journey has been meandering, but always rooted in a lifelong love of animals and creating. I've explored various mediums throughout my career, including graphite and watercolour, but ceramics have become the heart of my current practice.
In my ceramic works, I try to blend practicality with playfulness, creating functional pieces that bring a bit of whimsy to everyday life. Mugs, bowls, and jewellery holders are adorned with small animals and nature-inspired elements, embracing the natural textures of stoneware and glaze. Whether I'm painting a beloved cat, sculpting a tiny mouse perched on the rim of a mug or building a great mythical creature, I'm always seeking to capture the unique character of my subjects and share this joy with others. |
