I am a Bristol based artist.  I work mostly in acrylics with mixed media on wood and canvas. I started out painting 12 years ago, with a very decorative patchwork style. 
I loved vintage, ethnic textiles and patterns from around the world. My work has developed over the years. I now tend to work in a more abstract intuitive style using collage, drawing and a lot of underpaintings to build up layers. I incorporate figurative elements in a simple naive style. Often a story seems to appear. 
I never know how a piece of art will turn out and I am sure my unconscious plays a significant part. I find inspirations from my daily life, from my spiritual practise and nostalgia from the past. Family history and objects often appear.  When my dog died, for the next 6 months I seemed to have a dog in every painting.  It is a therapeutic process for me and not always an easy one.  If you would like to see more of my work you will find me on Instagram and Etsy.
